Ms Race 2a Cure Arynne Moody
Biography
|
I am from East Berlin, PA and I have grown up with sprint car racing. My
dad worked on the 9C 358 sprint driven by Bill Case Jr. before I was
born and as soon as I was able, I was being taken along to the track.
Then my dad, Mark Moody, began running his own 358 sprint (9M) with the
KARS series. When that group of cars broke up, dad sold his sprint and
began to run a street stock at Trailway Speedway. That car has since
been passed down to me and I cannot wait to race it. I love working on
the cars and got the nickname "gear girl" because I always had the job
on dad's car of changing the gears. As a kid my dad taught me a trick
that he showed off to everyone. He stated the number of a 410 sprint car
and I could name the driver of that car. My favorite driver as I was
growing up was Steve Stambaugh, a former driver of the Apple car.
Lincoln Speedway is by far my favorite track. I grew up living about 10
miles away from it so I spent most Saturday nights there and feel
fortunate to have had an awesome track with such great drivers basically
in my backyard. I have been around dirt track racing all my life and
that is never going to change.
I graduated from Bermudian Springs High School in 2004. I played field hockey, basketball, indoor field hockey, and softball in high school and was a member of the concert band, jazz band, chorus, and National Honor Society. I graduated from Shippensburg University in May of 2008 with my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Health Science concentration. I now attend graduate school at Arcadia University to receive my doctorate in physical therapy. I will graduate in February of 2011. In my free time I love to sing, draw, work out, and play sports along with watching them (Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Panthers, and Philadelphia Phillies- yes I'm diverse).
I consider myself very fortunate to have been raised around racing. I have served as Ms. Dirt Trackin’ 2010, Miss TSRS 2011, and received second runner-up at Ms. Motorsports 2011. I am so grateful to be able to represent such an awesome organization this year. Breast cancer is something that touches so many people and I am thrilled to be able to help raise money for an incredibly worthwhile cause. Thank you to Daryl Dissinger and the Race 2 a Cure Foundation for such a great opportunity!
